About Parks QB Academy
At Parks QB Academy, we're passionate about the Quarterback position and providing top-tier developmental opportunities for our local athletes at all levels. Our journey began with a simple vision: to create a more dynamic and competitive nature at the Quarterback position in Las Vegas. We wanted to create an environment where athletes would be challenged but where also they would be equipped with tools to be impactful at the Quarterback position. As avid sports enthusiasts ourselves, we understand the importance of having a place to improve your game, practice, and compete. That's why we've dedicated ourselves to providing and maintaining a thorough and up to date understanding of the Quarterback position as well as adjusting to the different nuances that come with playing the game of football.

As a young athlete my desire was to play Quarterback but I was always met with the opposition of being bigger than everyone and coaches wanting me to play on the line. During my youth playing days I played both sides of the ball due to my athletic ability but I never got the chance to play QB because I did not fit the prototypical expectation. It wasn’t until I was in middle school on my Jr. Mustangs team that we were down with a minute to go and our coach decided to throw me in as a Quarterback. I went into that possession and drove the team down the field throwing the game winning touchdown. That situation boosted my confidence immensely and showed me that I could hold my own playing the position. When I entered high school I knew that I wanted to play Quarterback and I was not going to let anyone persuade me difference no matter how much they wanted to use my frame at other positions. My fundamentals at QB were raw but I always had the natural arm talent to drive the ball down the field. I spent the majority of my high school career in unfortunate scenarios where my talent exceeded those of my competitors but opportunities were slight. In my senior year I entered the season as the starter and led our team to an undefeated regular season and a regional championship. That year I only threw the ball 48 times and did not have the film from previous years to justify a scholarship. I went the Junior College Route and attended Pima Community College in Arizona. Again I was met with opposition there seeing that the coach had a rule that he did not play Freshman so I was a mandatory redshirt. The following year I had the injury bug and had season ending surgery on my throwing shoulder. I took a year off after my shoulder injury but kept rehabbing and training on my own. I returned home and enrolled at UNLV. I finished my playing at UNLV fighting off opposition and the injury bug but I never doubted the fact that I could play. The most important thing that I learned throughout my playing years is that talent does not supersede being coachable. I was a smart player, you have to be to play Quarterback, and I had the arm talent that was not coachable, but my attitude towards things is what held me back the most from the greater opportunities.
Rasheed:
I started playing organized football at the middle school level for the Junior Mustangs where I played Linebacker and center. In high school I transitioned to playing Tight End at Arbor View High school where I was a 2x all conference player. With limited scholarship offers my senior year I decided to go the Junior College route and attended Pima Community College in Tucson. During my tenure at Pima Community College, I experienced both sides of the ball playing both offense and defense. My sophomore year at Pima I made the transition to playing Linebacker and Defensive End. I gained interest from several colleges to play defense, but my heart was to still find a way to play offense. After not receiving any scholarships to further my career I took a year off of football to refocus and to determine what my next step was. After taking a year off I decided to try out for the University Of Nevada Las Vegas. I was asked to join the team after the tryout in which they wanted me to continue playing defense. In the conclusion of that season, I decided that I wanted to take another direction with my athletic career and retired from playing football.
